For many people, receiving a shipment via a freight forwarder is unusual. These are often particularly important or special deliveries, so we want to help you prepare as best as possible for the delivery.
Keep Track of Your Shipment
We recommend regularly checking the tracking information. This allows you to estimate when the truck will arrive and ensure you are present. If no phone number is provided, the driver will not contact you in advance.
Tip: In our tracking system, you can see if an appointment or a delivery announcement via phone has been scheduled for your delivery.
Avoid Waiting Times and Additional Costs
Waiting times for truck drivers are unfortunately difficult to arrange. If no one is present at the delivery address, additional costs for a second delivery attempt may be incurred. Depending on the retailer, these costs may be passed on to the recipient. Therefore, it's important to ensure someone is present.
Permission to Leave the Package in Your Absence
If you cannot be home at the time of delivery, the package can be left at your address in your absence. We need confirmation from the sender for this. Please contact your retailer to inform us accordingly.
Observe Delivery Conditions
Freight deliveries have specific time windows and spatial restrictions. Most goods are delivered "Free to Curbside," meaning the goods are unloaded at the curb or sidewalk. The driver usually handles the unloading if the shipment is suitable for liftgate service. If not, appropriate unloading equipment (crane, forklift, etc.) must be provided.
Note: Deliveries to private addresses typically include liftgate and pallet jack service. Additionally, check if the tracking information shows the option "Delivery to Ground-Level Point of Use." If so, your shipment will be transported to the point of use as long as it is accessible by a pallet jack at ground level.
Accessibility of Your Delivery Location
If your property or house is located in a difficult-to-reach area, such as a traffic-calmed zone not suitable for truck traffic, please inform us in advance. We can then work with you to find suitable alternatives.
Inspect the Goods Upon Delivery
Please check the goods for any damage upon delivery and inform the driver of any issues. Note any defects on the delivery receipt. This will be archived in the tracking system and can be viewed there.
