As Switzerland is not a member of the EU, there are various aspects to consider when shipping. We are happy to support you with our customs clearance service.
Only above an invoice value of € 1,000 or weight of 1,000 kg the export must be declared to customs. To do this, they need an EORI number, which you can apply for at customs. This process is usually very quickly and the application for an EORI number alone is sufficient to complete the booking process with Cargoboard.
After booking, we will be happy to provide you with a sample commercial invoice suitable for customs and take care of the export declaration for you as well as any further communication with customs.
Important: We can only schedule the pickup of the goods once we have received all necessary information and documents and the deadline for presentation/customs inspection has passed. This may result in deviations from the scheduled pickup date.

What do I have to consider for shipping from Switzerland to Germany?
When sending your consignment from Switzerland to Germany, there is a special rule to consider. As the client of the transport, you must pay the import VAT for the consignment.
Note: The import VAT is usually 19 % of the value of the goods. For certain goods, such as books, a reduced rate of only 7 % applies.
As we make advance payment of the import VAT, we will charge you an additional presentation commission of 2% of the import VAT.
