What do I need to consider when shipping to the UK?

As the UK is not a member of the EU, there are various aspects to consider when shipping. We are happy to support you with our customs clearance service.

A commercial invoice and export documents are always required for shipments to the UK. Cargoboard will be happy to provide you with a sample commercial invoice after booking and take care of the export declaration to customs. If you wish, we can also work with your own customs agent.

In order for customs clearance to work smoothly, you need an EORI number. The EORI number can be applied for at customs and is required for the dutiable shipment of goods.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer you shipments to Great Britain that contain dangerous goods or are to be delivered directly to private customers.

If you want to send your goods to Ireland, no customs clearance is necessary. Such a shipment is treated in the same way as a shipment within the European Union.
