What is the Polish SENT System, and how does it work?

The SENT system controls the transportation of certain goods within Poland, as well as those entering or leaving the country. Managed by the Polish tax administration, it was developed to combat illegal trade and secure tax revenues.

Note: Unfortunately, we currently cannot transport shipments that require SENT monitoring. Please check if your goods are subject to monitoring under this system.

You can find an up-to-date list of monitored goods on the Polish Customs and Tax Portal:

What is monitored by the SENT system?

The SENT system monitors the transport and trade of goods that:

  • are transported within Poland,
  • begin in Poland and are delivered abroad, or vice versa,
  • begin and end outside of Poland but transit through Polish territory.

Who is affected by the SENT system?

The system applies to all carriers transporting SENT-regulated goods, such as fuel, alcohol, and tobacco products. These goods must be reported electronically, and vehicle locations must be transmitted in real-time. Carriers are required to have a device that transmits geolocation data.

Which goods are subject to monitoring?

Here is the current list (as of January 2024) of goods that require monitoring:

How to register in the SENT system

Transportation orders must be registered in the SENT portal before departure. Information about the cargo, sender, and recipient is required.
