To ensure your goods are transported safely and efficiently, it's essential that each package is properly labeled and includes the necessary handling instructions.
You will receive both the package labels and handling instructions via email after booking. Alternatively, you can access them anytime from the order overview in your Cargoboard user account.
Package Label for Identifying Your Goods
Every package you send with us needs to have a package label. This label contains crucial information for identifying and tracking your shipment, with the barcode being particularly important. The barcode allows your goods to be scanned multiple times during transport and helps track their location through the tracking system. Proper placement of the label is vital to ensure your shipment is processed efficiently and without delays throughout the transport process.
Note: For shipments with multiple packages (e.g., 3 pallets), the only differences between the package labels are the barcode and weight infromation.
Attaching the Label:
Attach the package label clearly visible on each package. The label should be securely affixed to the outside of the package to prevent it from getting lost or damaged during transport.
Number of Labels:
For example, if you are sending three Euro pallets with Cargoboard, you will receive three package labels from us. Each label should be placed on one of the pallets. It is particularly important to assign the labels correctly when the weights of the packages differ—such as one package weighing 30 kg and another 300 kg. Accurate label assignment is crucial for precise tracking and proper logistics handling.
Handling Instructions to Protect Your Sensitive Goods
Handling instructions are an essential part of the shipping process, especially if your goods are delicate and require special care. These instructions inform truck drivers and warehouse staff about the specific requirements for handling your items. When booking a shipment, we provide general handling instructions that you can attach to your goods.
Note: Of course, you can also add your own specific handling instructions to your goods. You know best how your items should be handled.
Attaching Handling Instructions:
Attach the handling instructions clearly visible on the outside of each pallet or package. This ensures that anyone handling your goods is aware of their special requirements.
