What is a call before delivery?
A call before delivery is the prior announcement of a delivery by a forwarding company. The forwarder announces the delivery of the shipment to the consignee.
When booking the call before delivery, the drivers announce themselves to the consignees by phone about 15 to 30 minutes before delivery. This allows the consignees to prepare themselves for the arrival of the goods.
Note: During the booking process, it is important that you provide a phone number of the consignee that is easy to reach.
You can also book an appointment for the delivery. The forwarder and the consignee agree on a delivery date. If the delivery is made to a private customer, you are obliged to book an appointment for the delivery. If no one can be found on site, the client will incur costs for an unsuccessful delivery attempt or a new delivery.
